Man, 71, faces multiple child porn charges

Police: More than 18,000 inappropriate images, video found on one hard drive

PEARLAND, Texas – A Pearland man has been accused of downloading child pornography online.

David Roetcisoender, 71, has been charged with five counts of possession of child pornography.

Pearland police said they found thousands of sexually explicit images and videos of children on Roetcisoender's computer.

Detectives said they started tracking Roetcisoender in April. According to court documents, investigators were able to determine that Roetcisoender was downloading the porn through his Internet service provider address.

A search warrant was served at Roetcisoender's home on Galleon Point Court on Monday.

Police said Roetcisoender confessed to having the child pornography. Investigators said Roetcisoender told them that he started downloading the images and video a month ago, but they said they believe it's been going on longer than that.

Detectives said they have only analyzed one of the 20 seized hard drives so far. On that hard drive were more than 18,000 pornographic images and videos of children as young as 6 years old, police said.

Roetcisoender is being held in jail with bond set at $120,000.
