Man, 60, dies in car crash on Gulf Freeway feeder road in SE Houston

Investigators search for cause of accident

A 60-year-old man is dead after a car accident in southeast Houston.

It happened Monday at 11:40 p.m. on the Gulf Freeway at Monroe Road.

According to the Houston Police Department, the man was driving southbound on the feeder road, when for an unknown reason he lost control.

The driver the swerved left off the roadway, and struck a pole.

He was the taken to Southeast Memorial Hospital where he later died.

Accident investigators said the victim's girlfriend told them that the man suffered from high blood pressure and had passed out while driving in the past.
