KATY, Texas -

A male cheer coach is accused of sexually assaulting one of his female students at a Katy cheerleading facility.

Late last month, the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office says the girl made an outcry about the assaults, which occurred on three different occasions.

Devincent Phillips, 40, was arrested Thursday and charged with sexual assault of a child. Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office investigators say Phillips owns the Xcel Athletics facility in the 500 block of South Mason Road. They say he sexually assaulted a 17-year-old girl, who was a student at the gym, at least three times between August and November.

Investigators said one of the assaults happened at the business and two happened at Phillips' home in Harris County.  The girl reported the crime in October.

Phillips was arrested Thursday.  He appeared in Court Friday and posted a $20,000 bond.

The mother of a 9-year-old student at the gym said after hearing of the arrest of the gym's owner that she has concerns.

Lisa Walsh said, "Obviously, I believe he is the owner of the facility. So I will probably not be taking my daughter here anymore. I just came to see what was going on. If they were still holding classes. Or what they were saying as far as the people are there to give the benefit of the doubt to hear the other side of the story."

Detectives believe there could be more victims. If you have any information, you are asked to contact the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office at 281-341-3863 or Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers, Inc. at 281-342-TIPS.
