Missing 11-year-old boy located after Amber Alert issued

HOUSTON – A missing 11-year-old boy has been found safe after an Amber Alert was issued Monday, according to the Oyster Creek Police Department.

Javier Christian Chapa Jr. was found in Clute, Texas, around 4:30 p.m.

Authorities say the child is in OK condition.

The 11-year-old Hispanic boy, Javier Christian Chapa Jr., had last been seen around 9 a.m. in the back yard of his grandparents' house, in Oyster Creek, Brazoria County, Texas. He will be returned to the custody of his grandparents.

He was with Javier Chapa Sr., 28, his noncustodial father, who has felony warrants pending in Richwood, Texas, and is a known drug user, police said. Chapa has been taken into custody.
