Thousands of marijuana plants were uncovered after a day-long drug operation in Colorado County.
Authorities received a tip on Monday about a suspected marijuana field on Cummins Creek northwest of Lone Oak.
The next day, several law enforcement agencies searched the area and discovered eight separate marijuana plots across several acres.
The Colorado Sheriff’s Office said officials worked all day Tuesday to remove and inventory the plants.
Authorities said they removed more than 5,770 marijuana plants worth an estimated $1,000,000.
The Colorado Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigation Division, DPS Aviation Unit, and Colorado County Commissioners Precinct 1 and Precinct 3.
This investigation is ongoing.
