HOUSTON -

If you're planning on a crawfish boil for Mardis Gras, it will cost you more, and the cold weather is to blame.

The hard freeze across southern Louisiana have frozen ponds making it difficult for fisherman to catch the crawfish.

Crawfish are also eating less, which means they will be smaller.

Once the weather warms up, the availability of crawfish should go up, which will push the prices back down.
