The Harris County Precinct 3 Constable's Office told us it all started with a domestic disturbance between a man and a woman at a nearby residence on Peppergate. Deputies say the two were living together and have a child. They say the two got into an argument when she slapped him, he slapped her, the she stabbed him.

The man, deputy constables say, then hit the child and fled the scene.

Precinct 3 says the man is not armed, but authorities issued the lockdown and shelter-in-place as a precaution. Both were lifted shortly after noon.
