‘Pot belly' suspect wanted for chasing, attacking girl in woods in Montgomery Co.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY – Authorities are looking for a man who chased and restrained a 12-year-old girl in Porter.

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office said on Saturday, November 9 between 4 and 4:30 p.m., the girl told police a stranger chased her into the woods near her home in the area of FM 1314 and Cumberland Boulevard. Once in the wooded area, the girl said the suspect physically restrained her.

The girl screamed and nearby residents came to help her, the sheriff's office said.

Officials said the suspect ran away before neighbors reached the girl.

The girl told deputies she believes she saw the suspect in her backyard on November 2. She also said she believes the man is the same person who attacked and assaulted her in the same area back in August 2012.

Deputies say the case last year was reported, but that a suspect was never found.

The suspect is described as a large white man with a "pot belly" who is about 6 feet tall, 300 pounds and has a dark buzzed hair cut, an un-kept beard, pock marked cheeks and yellow, crooked teeth.

The Texas Rangers are helping with the investigation.

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office is asking anyone with information about the suspect to call Det. Trey Gordy with the Person Crimes Unit at 281-297-6516, Texas Ranger Wende Wakeman at 936-538-3700 or Montgomery County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-392-STOP (7867).
