NEW CANEY, Texas – A man was arrested in New Caney late Wednesday night after deputies discovered child pornography.
Shane Trumble, 23, was living in a travel-trailer at the Wild Country RV Park in the 19100 block of FM 1485 with his father and grandmother, Montgomery County deputies said. Deputies were alerted to the trailer after discovering there was an open felony warrant out for Trumble's arrest from Cleveland, Ohio.
Investigators said Trumble's grandmother, Cynthia, pointed what turned out to be a BB gun toward officers when they arrived and threatened to shoot them. She initially refused to drop the weapon, but was arrested when she finally complied, officials said.
When deputies moved in, they found 3,000 images of child porn stored on a computer with several hard drives. Some of the images included children performing sex acts. They also found girls' underwear in Trumble's trailer.
"We found a small trash receptacle that apparently had 30 small panties, which is odd for this case, but it's not unusual," said Captain Mark Seals of the Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constable's Office.
All of the items were collected for evidence.
"I got two grandkids that live in the park. I don't want anybody like that around here," property manager Roger Hollon said.
Trumble was already a registered sex offender in Ohio. Deputies said he lived in Montgomery County since June of 2012, but still had not registered with the county, which is required by Texas law.
Trumble is facing several charges, including four counts of possession of child pornography.
Deputies said Trumble is being held in the Montgomery County Jail in Cleveland without bond.
He will face charges in Texas first and then be extradited back to Ohio.
Cynthia Trumble, 62, has been charged with interfering with a public servant's duties, a class-B misdemeanor. She was released from jail after posting $1,000 bond.
