SPLENDORA - A drug bust in Montgomery County led to the discovery of some exotic animals kept inside a Splendora home.
Officials said around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Precinct 4 deputy constables went to a home on Morton and Morgan Drive after receiving tips that a man may be running drugs out of the house.
Once officers arrived, they arrested Michael Terry for possession of marijuana; but, then made a bigger discovery.
Authorities found a 6-foot alligator and dozens of poisonous snakes in the house. They said the gator slept on the couch and roamed the house freely.
The gator was captured and taken to an exotic game ranch in New Caney.
