Woman crashes into northwest Harris County storage facility

HCSO: Driver admits she was drinking before crash

HOUSTON – A 25-year-old woman was arrested after running into a northwest Harris County storage business.

Deputies said the woman claimed she had just left the "249 Bar & Grill" and was heading eastbound on state Highway 249 around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The road ends at Fallbrook Drive, but instead of turning left or right at the intersection, she went straight.

She plowed into a metal fence and then ran into the storage building.

The driver suffered minor injuries.

When deputies questioned her, she admitted to having "a few drinks."  She said she thought she was turning into the parking lot at her apartment complex, but missed the turn.

Deputies said the complex was about a mile away.

Deputies said they administered a field sobriety test and said she showed "signs of intoxication." They also discovered she had an open warrant for her arrest. She was taken into custody.
