Surveillance video of kidnapping suspect released

PASADENA, Texas – Investigators recently obtained home surveillance video that is believed to show a kidnapping suspect's vehicle driving through the neighborhood where the crime occurred.

On Feb. 24, investigators said the suspect drove into a neighborhood located in the 700 block of Richey Street.  There, he kidnapped a 6-year-old girl around 11:30 a.m.

"It was a Sunday afternoon and she was waiting for her friends to come in from church," said the girl's grandmother. "He told her he was going to take her to McDonalds and buy her a toy, and didn't do that."

Pasadena police said over the next hour, the man sexually assaulted the child and then returned her to the area of the abduction.

The suspect is described as a light-skinned white or Hispanic man who may have tattoos on his arms.  Authorities believe the car he was driving is a dark-colored 2005 Chevy Impala with a distinctive silver panel on the front passenger's side.

Anyone with information about the crime or the suspect is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
