Spring High student accused of bomb threat against school

SPRING, Texas – A Spring High School student faced a Harris County judge Friday after the teen was arrested and charged with making a terroristic threat on school grounds.

"On Monday Spring High School was evacuated after threats were made by a student," said Karen Garrison who is the spokesperson for Spring Independent School District. "Everyone was out of the building by 11:25 a.m. Spring ISD police officers and ATF investigators made a complete search of the area and later discovered that the threat was a hoax. The student who made the threat was arrested on Wednesday."

According to Harris County prosecutors, Joseph Paul Taylor wrapped up his calculator and disguised it as a bomb. They are exploring the possibility of Taylor, 18, paying for the cost of the evacuation after he allegedly made that false report.

Taylor's bond was set at $5,000.
