Search underway for armed men who robbed Popeyes in NW Harris County

Two suspects entered the Popeyes on FM 1960 and fled with cash

HARRIS COUNTY – Authorities are searching two suspects who broke in to a fast food restaurant in northwest Harris County before it opened for the day.

The Harris County Precinct 4 Constables Office said around 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, two armed suspects entered the Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen located in the 3100 block of FM 1960 at Aldine Westfield.

An employee told Local 2 that he was taking out the trash when he was approached by two men. They followed him in and took money from a register and a manager's purse.

Investigators said the suspects then took off heading north on FM 1960.

Deputies and a K-9 unit are searching the area for the suspects. Descriptions for them have not been released.

Jen Davis, a woman who works nearby, says crimes like this are happening too often.

"I'm not surprised at all, it's a bad area," Davis said.

Davis said their other mobile store in the same shopping center has been hit three times in the last several months.

Officials say the suspects got away with a small amount of cash.

There were no reports of any injuries.
