HOUSTON - A man was hit by an oncoming car as he attempted to cross Highway 6 at the intersection of Clay Road in northwest Houston.
According to reports, the car was traveling north around 11:30 p.m. Saturday when it struck the victim.
The driver said the pedestrian surprised him and seemed to come out of nowhere. Deputies said the driver did stop and wait for emergency crews to arrive.
The pedestrian was taken to the hospital in serious but stable condition.
Deputies said no charges are expected to be filed.
The names of the driver and pedestrian were not released.
