Man fighting for life after being hit by car

HOUSTON – A pedestrian was on life support after being hit by a car in north Harris County.

The accident happened at the intersection of Aldine Mail Route Road and Reeveston Road.  Around 8:15 p.m. on Thursday, a man attempted to walk across the two-lane road that was under construction.

Harris County deputies said he walked between two orange barrels, and a car struck him. 

The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition.  According to deputies, he was on life support and may not survive.

The driver of the car was not injured in the accident.

Deputies said they do not expect to file any charges, as the pedestrian walked out in front of the car at a non-crosswalk.

Neither the name of the driver nor the name of the victim have been released.
