HCSO: Man dies after being run over in movie theater parking lot

TOMBALL, Texas – Homicide detectives are investigating a deadly auto-pedestrian accident that happened outside of a busy movie theater in Tomball.

At around 12:30 a.m. Monday, the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office was called out to the Silverado 19 Theater on Tomball Parkway. When they arrived, deputies say they found a man in the parking lot who had been run over by a vehicle.

Earlier in the night, investigators say the victim and his group of friends and two other men got started arguing inside of the movie theater sand it carried out into the parking lot.

Investigators say the two men got into their Ford F-150 crew cab pickup and the victim confronted them on the front, passenger side window.

The sheriff's office says the driver of the pickup put his truck in reverse, ran over the victim and drove off.

The man hit was transported to Tomball Regional Hospital where he later died.

"That's surprising for something like that to happen around here," said customer, Rudy Rivas.

After the incident was cleared, video showed tire marks on a grassy median, a small tree which was uprooted and fire crews spraying down the scene.

The investigation has been turned over to the Harris county homicide unit. They spent several hours processing the scene.

The sheriff's office is looking for the two men who were in the white pickup who they believe has more information about what happened.

"It's shocking. It's scary. You can't talk to anyone about anything I guess," Rivas said.

Anyone with information about the identity and/or location of the driver and passenger of the truck should call the HCSO's Homicide Division at 713-967-5810 or submit a tip via iWatchHarrisCounty.
