Guns, marijuana found near 3 bodies in NW Harris County neighborhood

HARRIS COUNTY – Authorities said three people were found dead in front of a house in northwest Harris County.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office said gunfire was reported just before 10 a.m. Thursday in the neighborhood at Briarchase Drive and Torrey Forest Drive.

According to the sheriff's office, two bodies were found inside a white Ford Mustang, which had crashed into a house. Officials said a pistol and bag of marijuana were found in the car.

The body of the third victim was found next to a pistol in a nearby parking lot.

Neighbors told Local 2's Mary Benton that they have had problems in the neighborhood recently, everything from reported drug deals to break-ins to home invasions, but they never expected anything like this to happen.

Surveillance cameras surround the park very near to where one of the bodies was found.

"We definitely have some surveillance video," said Anthony Sidney, president of the Hambledon Homeowners Association. "We're just trying to get a hold of the gentleman that has access to all of that so that he could provide it to Harris County sheriff's deputies. Hopefully there will be footage there useful to them to find out what really happened out here."

Neighbors said they saw an unfamiliar person walking around with a backpack earlier in the day. That man's body was found in the parking lot.

Homicide detectives have responded to the scene.

Authorities said there is not an active search for any suspects at this time as they review surveillance video.

The names of the victim's have not yet been released.
