Child, 11, drowns in San Jacinto River

HOUSTON – A child drowned Sunday afternoon in the San Jacinto River, according to deputies.

Harris County Sheriff's Office deputies say they were called at around 2:30 p.m. at the river and Beaumont Highway. Kenny Truong, 11, drowned near a marina on the river.

There is no cause of death yet.
