LA MARQUE, Texas - A city councilwoman accused of making racist comments won't face a recall election.

La Marque decided to toss out the election in a special city council meeting Monday night.

Opponents of Connie Trube gathered signatures to force the recall, but city council decided those signatures weren't collected properly.

Her alleged remarks about the school board were caught on tape last June. The city council later censured her.
