SWAT standoff over; suspect in custody in Sugar Land

Deputies were attempting to serve a warrant related to a DWI at the residence

SUGAR LAND – A SWAT in the Sugar Land area after has ended and a suspect is in custody.

At around 1pm Tuesday, Ft. Bend County Sheriff's Office deputies were attempting to serve a warrant related to a DWI at a residence in the 2200 block of Country Club Blvd. Deputies say a man saw them and ran inside to an upstairs bedroom.

Authorities believed the man may be armed. He refused to come out of the residence.

According to the deputies, he reportedly told his mother that he doesn't want to go back to prison.

At around 4pm, deputies say they stormed the residence and took the suspect into custody.

Deputies say charges are pending.

Now that the scene is over, residents in the area will be allowed to enter and leave the area.
