Man found dead inside Fort Bend County home

FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas – Authorities say foul play is suspected after a man's body was found tied up inside a home in Fort Bend County.

The sheriff's office says deputies responded to the home in the 14200 block of Bay Gardens Drive after the 32-year-old man's body was discovered by his brother Wednesday morning. Investigators say the victim was tied up.

The sheriff's office said the victim, identified as 32-year-old Antonio Cesar Hinojosa, lived alone. Officials said the brother was worried about Hinojosa and found the body when he went to check on him.

"Their last contact with them, he had been over at their house Sunday afternoon watching a football game, and so that's the last time they heard from him," said Bob Haenel, spokesman for the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office. "They began trying to contact the man and kept on failing, so finally the brother came over and gained entry into the house and found his brother dead."

Homicide investigators say foul play is suspected because the victim was tied up and the home had been ransacked.

Investigators are waiting for a court order so they can search the home. The sheriff's office said there were no signs of forced entry.

Friends of Hinojosa can't believe he's gone.

"He came to my BBQ over there.  He BBQ, he'd come over, or go down to my other friend's house and watch a fight," said Fabian Rivera.

Investigators are not sure if the man died from a gunshot or a stab wound. Neighbors told Local 2 they did not hear or see anything suspicious earlier in the morning.

"I been living here for 25 years and nothing happened to us," Riviera said.

Authorities have not released an official cause of death because they are unsure if Hinojosa died from a gunshot or stab wound.
