FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas – A child was rushed to a hospital after, deputies said, he was shot in the leg.
The incident occurred around 4 p.m. Saturday afternoon on Nails Road near FM 1093 in Fort Bend County.

Investigators said the child was walking with his grandfather when he told his grandfather something hit his leg.
Officials said the grandfather rushed the boy to a nearby emergency care clinic, and the boy was later transported to the Texas Children's Hospital.
Investigators are working to determine who fired the shot and why.
