Another alligator found in Fort Bend County

FORT BEND COUNTY – Another alligator was spotted in Fort Bend County.

Veronica Seamster lives in the Field Stone subdivision off Mason Road in Fort Bend County.

Tuesday morning, she and her neighbors found an alligator in their front yard.

"They had to shoot it like two or three times because it was still moving," said Seamster.

According to Texas Parks and Wildlife, the alligator was eight-feet long. Officials said it may have been there for awhile because of its dry skin.

Experts say construction disturbs their habitat bringing them out. In addition, it's breeding season, so wildlife officials say it's common for them to catch gators this time of year.

"A lot of people were startled because it was first time seeing something like this in the neighborhood," said Seamster.

The game warden says the alligator ran into a fence and was trapped until a neighbor spotted it and called 911.

Last week, an 18-year-old Braxton Bielski bagged an 800-pound, 14-foot, 3-inch gator during a public hunt.
