Local gay couple wins wedding contest

HOUSTON – The American Civil Liberties Union is moonlighting as a wedding planner this month.

It's part of their campaign to legalize same-sex marriage nationwide.

The ACLU hosted a contest for couples living in states where gay marriage is outlawed, liked Texas and this week a local couple found out they won.

Jeff Robertson and Jeremiah Pyant will tie the knot in a state where it's legal using the $5,000 they won.

Their creative plan helped the online votes needed to win.

Not only will the happy couple finally have their chance to make it official, the ACLU is also hosting a big party for them in New York afterward.
