Local college locked down after outburst on campus

Police were sent after after the man began throwing papers and furniture in a school office

HOUSTON – A local college was briefly placed under a lockdown after a man's unexplained outburst on campus.

The incident happened after 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Remington College's North Campus on Greens Crossing Blvd.

Houston Police were called to the school after a man began throwing papers and furniture in a school office.

Police say it was unknown why he became so upset.  It took several officers to get him under control. Even after he was placed in a police car, he continued to kick in an effort to break the car's back window.

Police said the suspect would be sent for a mental health evaluation and it will be up to the college to decide if it would like to press charges.

A representative with Remington College confirmed the incident involved a student and said the campus was briefly placed under a lock down.  No students were injured.
