PEARLAND, Texas - A group of boys are definitely the pride of Pearland and soon they will be back on the field to get ready for the Little League World Series.
The team is headed back to the World Series in Williamsport for the second time in five years after winning the regional tournament in Waco Wednesday night.
"It was amazing. One of the best feelings. If we could keep winning and keep going, and not put a loss on the scoreboard, and keep it going," said Michael "McCain" Groover.
Pearland beat Louisiana 7-3 to advance. A crowd of people gathered at Central Texas Barbeque in Pearland to watch the game.
"We have to have it on at the restaurant that is the only thing people want to watch," said owner Ruth Leclere.
Presley Smith is following in his brother's footsteps. His older brother Hunter went to the World Series when their dad was the coach back in 2010.
"He was wanting us to win, but he was also saying, 'You can't get as far as us. We were a lot better team.' So it feels good to get as far as they did," said Presley.
Sibling rivalry aside, Presley is just excited to play the game he loves with his friends and teammates.
"We are going to just go out there and try to play our game, play our best, throw our pitches and let our coaches to the rest," he said.
Of course, Local 2 will keep following the Pearland All-Stars as they move on to the Little League World Series.
