HOUSTON – Officials said lightning caused oil field equipment to catch on fire overnight in Fort Bend County.
The fire started around 1:30 on Saturday morning in a grassy field just east of Bellaire and Mason Rd.

Cell phone video caught small structures and several large metal tanks on fire.
The blaze could be seen from half a mile away and Fort Bend Sheriff’s Deputies warned nearby residents to stay inside.
Roads were blocked off around the scene in all directions, but they have all re-opened.
Crews got control of the fire after hours of battling the blaze.
There are no reports of any injuries.
