Liberty police seek identity of man who tried to kidnap teenager

LIBERTY COUNTY, Texas – The Liberty Police Department is looking for a man who allegedly tried to kidnap a teenager.

It happened briefly after 9 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of North Travis Street and Monta Street.

Police say a teenage boy was sitting on a bench area when a vehicle drove up to him.

The driver made comments to the boy and attempted to grab him to possibly take him into the car, according to investigators. Authorities say the boy was able to free himself and run away.

The driver of the car is described as a 50-60-year-old white man with balding white hair. Authorities say he was driving a car that might have been a white Lincoln.
