LEAGUE CITY – An infant died after being left in a hot car, according to League City police.
Police said they were called to Christus Victor Lutheran Church around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday after a father found his baby dead in his vehicle.

According to police, the man said he dropped his older children off at school in his personal vehicle. He planned to take the infant to the daycare, but went home to get his work vehicle and then went to work.
The father told police after he got off work, he went home to get his personal vehicle. When he picked up his kids at daycare, workers told him the baby had not been dropped off. That's when he went to his car and found his infant dead in backseat.
No charges have been filed at this time, and names of those involved have not been released.
Police said this is an ongoing investigation.
League City officials are reminding parents that we can reduce the number of heat-related injuries and deaths by remembering to "ACT."
A: Avoid heatstroke-related injury and death by never leaving your child alone in a car, not even for a minute, and make sure to keep your car locked when you are not in it so kids don't get in on their own.
C: Create reminders by putting something in the back of your car next to your child like as a briefcase, a purse or a cell phone that is needed at your final destination. This is especially important if you are not following your normal routine.
T: Take action. If you see a child alone in a car, call 911. One call could save a life.
