LIBERTY COUNTY, Texas – Three different law enforcement agencies helped in the arrest of a man accused of alluding officers in a high speed chase on Christmas night.
According to investigators, when a Liberty county sheriff's deputy responded to a domestic disturbance call at a home on FM 563, a pick-up truck accelerated at a high rate of speed through the front yard of the home and a ditch, heading north towards Hwy. 90.

Once on the highway, the truck reached speeds of 90 miles per hour, deputies said.
With the assistance of DPS troopers and officers with the Liberty police department, a "stop stick" was deployed in the road puncturing the truck's left front tire.
The puncturing did not slow the truck down, according to investigators.
The truck continued at speeds of 90 miles per hour before the damaged tire began to shred and come apart, said deputies.
According to investigators, when deputies, troopers and officers ordered Edgar Taylor, 40, out of his vehicle, he refused.
A window had to be broken to get Taylor out of the truck.
Deputies said a loaded rifle and two unloaded shotguns were found in Taylor's vehicle.
A packet of what later tested to be methamphetamine was also found in the truck.
Taylor is charged with felony evading arrest and possession of a controlled substance.
Other possible charges are pending.
Taylor was placed in the Liberty county jail and is being held on what turned out to be a temporary restraining order.
