HOUSTON -

The attorney representing the teen who was injured at a northwest Harris County trampoline park filed a lawsuit Monday claiming negligence.

Teenager Max Menchaca suffered seizures and a traumatic brain injury after falling through a torn trampoline canvas at Cosmic Jump. He is still having issues walking and completing basic life skills like remembering things.

His mother, Trace, says, "I think it's very sad that a place can come and open its doors in our community and not provide a safe place for children."

Charlie Gustin is the attorney for the family. He says "Unfortunately, these types of serious injuries at trampoline parks are becoming more common."

Medical costs are an issue for the family. Gustin says they are in the range of tens of thousands of dollars.

In the suit, it claims negligence, including the company's failure to provide adequate supervision, failure to maintain the premises and failure to maintain or install safety process to make the area and conditions safe.
