Landlord found dead in rental home

Ali Dehghani's body found in house in 5400 block of Malmedy

HOUSTON – A man was found dead inside one of his rental homes and his car was missing, investigators said.

Ali Dehghani, 62, was found inside a home in the 5400 block of Malmedy in southeast Houston about 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Houston police said Dehghani left his home Monday morning to check on some of his rental properties. His family filed a missing persons report when he did not return home.

Family members checked Dehghani's rental properties and found his body inside the home on Malmedy, investigators said. Detectives said Dehghani suffered blunt force trauma.

Relatives told police that Dehghani's car, a silver 2006 Honda Accord with Texas license plate No. THD306, was stolen.

Investigators said the home where Dehghani died had been vacant since before Christmas.

Police said they don't have any witnesses or suspects in the case.
