LA PORTE, Texas – It was a Texas-size watch party for hometown favorite Jake Worthington competing on NBC's 'The Voice.'

The Sylvan Beach Pavillion in La Porte was transformed into Team Jake headquarters Tuesday night.

Even though Jake didn't win, for him and his family it has been quite a journey.

"I say on Monday nights we don't sleep. It's Jake's night. I haven't been to sleep since yesterday and this is just all about him. it's an awesome journey," said Tammy Lopez, Jake's aunt.

The journey has been just as incredible for his scores of fans who've been rooting for Jake from afar, every step of the way.

"He's already a winner. In our eyes, he is already a winner," Marnell Bowerman said.

Jake's family tells Local 2 the overwhelming support has meant the world to them and to Jake.

"We're very proud of him. He's done great. He's humble and just stay true to himself," Darlene Wilkens said.

As this chapter of Jake's journey comes to a close, what many in La Porte will remember most is how he brought their city of close to 35,000 people together in a way they will never forget.
