Katy Memorial Junior High School student approached by male stranger

KATY, Texas – Katy ISD is warning parents and students to be on alert after a girl was approached by a stranger on her way to school.

Investigators say this happened Wednesday as the girl was headed to Memorial Junior High School. School officials say a man in his mid-20s approached the girl near the intersection of Hockaday Drive and Concordia in Katy.

The girl says the man repeatedly asked for her name, age, school and what grade she was in.

After telling the man she didn't want to talk to him, she said the stranger turned and walked away.

Another stranger danger incident involving a Katy ISD student happened Wednesday afternoon.

The district says a middle-aged Asian man approached a 6-year-old girl as she was walking home from Hayes Elementary on Park Timbers Lane at Westgreen Boulevard and asked her if she wanted to go home with him.

Katy ISD says the student said no and the man left the area.

Katy ISD police are investigating this incident.
