HARRIS COUNTY, Texas -

A Katy Independent School District junior high teacher faced a judge Tuesday morning.

Heather Lynn Miller, 46, was arrested Sunday evening after Katy ISD police said she was having an inappropriate relationship with a 14-year-old student.

Katy ISD police said an officer patrolling the Katy Junior High parking lot had noticed Miller's car. The officer approached the temporary building were Miller taught social studies and saw that the lights were off and became suspicious.

Police said as the officer approached the classroom, Miller opened the door and said everything is fine. Still suspicious, the district said the officer looked passed Miller and saw the boy getting dressed.

"It is concerning as a parent," said Christy Bradford. "I do not understand why -- how a grown person and even a teacher could look at a child that way."

While Miller goes through the legal system, Katy ISD placed her on administrative leave pending a full investigation.

A Harris County judge waived probable cause, and ordered Miller to stay way from the junior high and the boy.

Her bond remains at $50,000.
