Before being found, the baby, named Genesis, was in a car that was stolen several hours earlier from a nearby gas station. The thieves then left the baby in her car seat on the side of the road.

The baby was then returned to her mother who says she left the baby in the car for just a moment when it was stolen.

Police released a sketch of the man accused of stealing that car and dumping that baby, but he still hasn't been caught.

The suspect is about 5 foot 9 inches tall, thin, with a high-top haircut slanted to one side.

Police say it has not yet been determined if the mother will face any charges.

Anyone with information on this case, or on the identity or whereabouts of the suspect, are urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
