J.J. Watt gets text from Kendrick Lamar about Watt's brother T.J.

Watt has two brothers currently playing in NFL

White Sulphur Springs, W.Va. – J.J. Watt has a pretty impressive list of celebrities in his smartphone contact list. But even he said he was surprised when he got a text from popular rapper Kendrick Lamar on Friday night.

He was even more surprised when the text was about one of Watt's brothers who was playing in his first NFL preseason game.

T.J. Watt, one of two of J.J.'s brothers who play in the NFL, made his debut last night for the Pittsburgh Steelers and picked up a pair of sacks in just his first four plays.

"I came out of my meeting and I actually had a text on my phone and the first text that I saw, it was the most crazy thing in the world. I read the text and it said, “I see your little bro out there balling. I hope all is well.’ " Watt said.

"And I looked and I was, like, that was from Kendrick Lamar. I was, like, wait a second. What did my little brother do? So I go on Google. I check it out and it said two sacks in four plays. So, I texted him so he could see after the game what Kendrick said and I just thought that was like, the craziest thing in the world, to see one of the best rappers in the world -- possibly the best rapper in the world -- text me about my little brother."

J.J. and the Texans will host T.J. and the Steelers on Christmas day at NRG Stadium. J.J. Watt said it's amazing to have another little brother playing in the NFL

"It was such an awesome moment to see him go out there and do what he does. I mean, he’s a great football player. I’m very excited to watch him play," Watt said.

"He’s worked so hard. He’s overcome a lot in his career and, I mean, two sacks in four plays made me question myself because I played four plays the other day. A little disappointed (in myself).”
