Investigators search for suspect, motive in SE Houston murder

HOUSTON – Authorities are investigating the murder of a man in southeast Houston.

It happened near the intersection of Kirby Drive and Nichole Woods Drive.

Investigators say the victim's wife woke up in the middle of the night and and couldn't find her husband. It wasn't until she walked downstairs and to the garage when she found his body.

"It looks like he was shot a couple of times in the torso area, we are not exactly sure as to why he was shot," says Sargent Richard Rodriguez with the Houston Police Department said.

A lot of unanswered questions surrounding a man's death outside of his home on Michole Woods and Kirby. Officers don't know who the shooter is or why the victim was even shot.

Investigators say the victim's wife told them the last time she saw her husband alive was around midnight when he got out of bed to meet someone downstairs.

"Hey I am going to run downstairs, I have to meet somebody, he didn't say specifically who he was going to meet, the goes downstairs, she didn't think anything of it, it was already late so she fell asleep and when she woke up, she couldn't find him," says Rodriguez.

When she found his body outside the garage, she called 911. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Neighbors tell us the victim was 38 years old and was a father.
