HOUSTON -

A Houston firefighter injured in a deadly motel fire has received a van to help him and his family during his recovery.

The the Houston Area Toyota Dealers Association donated a 2014 Toyota Sienna to local firefighter Captain William Dowling.

The vehicle will be converted to meet Captain Dowling's needs.

Captain Dowling was critically injured this past May when he answered a call for a fire at a local hotel that would ultimately kill four Houston firefighters and injure 14 others. The blaze caused the roof to collapse and Dowling was trapped underneath debris.

Prior to his accident, Dowling had worked for the Houston Fire Department for 13 years. He and his wife, Jacki, have been married for 19 years and have three children.
