Infant, child injured after police chase ends in crash in southeast Houston

HOUSTON – A baby and another child were injured after a high-speed chase Thursday in southeast Houston.

Police were called to a disturbance at home on Scott street when officers saw a car pulling out of the driveway. When officers tried to stop the driver she sped off in a stolen vehicle, police said.

The chase ended about two blocks away when the woman crashed the vehicle on Scott and the South Loop causing it to flip on its side, police said.

The infant, injured child and driver were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Police said the baby was in a car seat at the time of the crash. The relationship between the woman and children is unclear.

The driver faces charges of felony evading, unauthorized use of vehicle and child endangerment.
