Before coming to KPRC, Idolina was the weekday morning and noon weathercaster for KIFI in Eastern Idaho. During her time there, she loved to snowboard in the winter and explore Yellowstone National Park in the summer.

Idolina received her Bachelor of Science in Communication with an emphasis in Broadcast Journalism from Brigham Young University-Idaho. She minored in Information Systems.

She is finishing up her final year at Mississippi State University where she will earn her Certificate in Broadcast Meteorology. She is a member of the Mississippi State Chapter of Sigma Gamma Epsilon Honor Society.

Idolina has been fascinated by weather since her days as a kid during hurricane season, watching severe thunderstorms roll through her neighborhood and when she was caught in a flash flood on her way home from work one summer in the Rio Grande Valley.

"I am extremely excited to learn more about tropical weather, which is my favorite type of weather. I love the science of meteorology and have a passion for what I do. I hope Houston can see that with every weather cast," she says.

Idolina is married and has a 3-pound Chihuahua, who's named Kaui because she looks like a Holstein. She has two brothers and a sister.

Idolina and her husband are looking forward to exploring their new home, from the good eats to all the wonderful arts and entertainment Houston offers.
