Deer locked inside bathroom after smashing into Spring home

SPRING, Texas – It looks like a scene from a burglary, with shards of glass and household items scattered around the house on Whispering Willow Drive.

Terry Brumley said he was relaxing on his couch, watching TV, when out of nowhere an unwelcome guest came barging in.

"I was laying here, my large Labrador was laying here, glass and debris went flying on up, I jumped up, not quite sure what was going on until I saw the deer behind me," Brumley said.

A buck had run right through the glass storm door. The deer was running around the house, destroying dishes and leaving a mess behind him.

"It hit the patio door and took off through the dining room. He was bleeding because he got blood on my sofa, and the wall over here. He had to clear the dining room table, he ricocheted off the wall, now he is trapped in my bathroom," Brumley said.

For hours the deer stayed in the bathroom, visibly agitated and looking for a way out. Through the bedroom blinds, you can see a sheriff's deputy finally decide to go in the bathroom and help the deer out.

"He went in and grabbed him, sounds like he wrestled with him a little bit, drug him out of the house. Once he got him clear of the garage, he let loose of him and he took off. (It) looked like he was looking for another house to go to," Brumley said.
