Hydrocodone, Soma stolen from pharmacy

BAYTOWN, Texas – Two men stole medications from a pharmacy next door to an urgent care center, police said.

Baytown police said two men wearing blue hospital scrubs, white surgical masks, sunglasses and latex gloves walked into the pharmacy in the 1600 block of West Baker Road about 2 p.m. on Saturday.

The men handcuffed the pharmacist and then went to a counter and took Hydrocodone, Xanax and Soma, detectives said. They took enough medication to treat more than 500 patients, investigators said.

Police said the men got away in a Ford F-350 pickup truck that had been reported stolen. It was found abandoned at an apartment complex in the 2900 block of West Baker Road, investigators said.

The pharmacist wasn't able to get a good description of the robbers because she was placed face-down on the floor and they were wearing surgical masks and sunglasses.

Detectives said the pharmacy has been targeted by thieves in the past. Two months ago, two people with towels draped over their faces tried to break in through the front door after hours, but they didn't make it inside.

Anyone with information is asked to call Baytown Crime Stoppers at 281-427-TIPS.
