Hundreds of gallons of fuel stolen

FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas – Deputies need help to find the person or person who stole hundreds of gallons of fuel from two properties.

According to Fort Bend County deputies, the thefts happened at two separate locations off Smithers Lake Road near F.M. 762.

During the first break-in, the thief or thieves emptied a diesel storage tank of about 600 gallons of fuel and stole the pump on the tank, deputies said.

A storage facility was also broken into and a chainsaw and a generator were stolen, deputies said.

The second victim also had about 100 gallons of diesel fuel stolen from a storage tank, as well as a fuel pump with the victim's name painted on it, deputies said.

Detectives said in both thefts, two sets of tracks were found, which indicated that the person or persons had a trailer.

Information which leads to the capture and charges on the suspects could earn a reward of up to $5,000.
