Humble police say Patrician Almond was disoriented, swaying from side to side, had blood shot eyes and smelled of alcohol when they pulled her over just before 8 a.m. Thursday.
Investigators said the 48-year-old was spotted swerving all over the road and even grazed the highway retaining wall on southbound Highway 59. Police arrested her on suspicion of DWI.
Almond is a theater teacher at Timberwood Middle School in Humble.
A spokesperson with Humble Independent School District told Local 2 in a statement, "The incident is being addressed through the court system, as it happened off campus, outside of school hours, and did not involve students. Human Resources will be reviewing the police report and then meeting with the staff member to discuss options."
Right now Almond remains in the classroom and continues to teach students. Humble ISD said driving is not part of her job description and the incident happened off campus.
