HOUSTON -

While trying to protect his restaurant, a manager shot and killed an armed robber, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies say around 8:30 Friday night, three masked gunmen entered the Church's Chicken on Veterans Memorial at South Camden Park and held the employees at gunpoint, demanding money.

One of the suspects was behind the counter when that bold manager shot and killed him.

"They had their faces covered and were wearing hoodies," said Robert Surgeon with Harris County Sheriff's Office. "One suspect ran behind counter, other two had firearms. The manager of Church's Chicken produced his own firearm and shot one of the suspects, leaving him deceased at the scene."

The other two suspects got scared and ran off. The one suspect who was shot died inside the restaurant. No employees or customers were hurt.

Investigators said no charges will be filed against the restaurant manager.

Officials continue to search for the two other suspects. Anyone who has any information on this incident is asked to call police.
