HOUSTON - A man was stabbed as he slept in his southeast Houston apartment Tuesday, police said.
Investigators said the victim's female friend or girlfriend waited until he was asleep at 2 a.m. and stabbed him twice in the chest at an apartment on Holman Street and Nettleton Street.
The victim was taken to Ben Taub Hospital with stab wounds to his upper chest. He was hospitalized in stable condition.
The suspect fled the scene. Houston police said they know who she is and will continue to search for her.
It was unclear what may have led up to the stabbing.
No names were released.
