HOUSTON – A woman has admitted to beating up her younger sister, but she doesn't think she did anything wrong, police said.
Deby Janis Mejia, 23, has been charged with injury to a child.

Houston police said Mejia's 10-year-old sister went to a neighbor's apartment to buy a snack on Oct. 11. Â
Mejia came home, found the girl eating the snack, got angry and hit the girl with an extension cord, investigators said.
Detectives said Mejia then grabbed her sister's hair and banged her head on the floor. The girl passed out, officials said. Police said Mejia also kicked her sister.
Mejia confessed to all of the allegations, police said.
Mejia has been caring for her sister since their mother was deported to Honduras in 2006. Police said Mejia told them she resents her sister for being born and she does not love her. Investigators said Mejia told them that she does not feel any remorse and does not think she did anything wrong.
Mejia's criminal history includes a conviction on a theft charge in 2007.
