HPD: Triple shooting at SW Houston apartments appears to be drug-related

HOUSTON – Houston police say a triple shooting in southwest Houston that left one man dead appears to be drug-related.

The shooting took place Thursday at the Crossings at Ashton Place Apartments in the 11600 block of Bissonet near South Kirkwood around 4:30 p.m.

Police say two unknown male suspects entered an apartment, shot three men inside, then fled on foot.

One of the victims ran for help to a nearby Handi Stop convenience store. Witnesses saw the wounded man standing outside by the pumps and alerted the clerk inside.
Ali Shaw called for an ambulance.

"I came in the store. One guy came in the back, saying, ‘Please help me call the ambulance.' I call the ambulance, 9-1-1," Shaw said. "A lot of blood...So I called 9-1-1. The ambulance is coming, police is coming."

Paramedics transported that man and another shooting victim to nearby hospital for treatment. The third victim died at the scene.

The identity of the deceased man is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

The suspects remain at large. Anyone with information is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
